We believe that there is an incredible untapped potential in US manufacturing due to poor visibility. Our system will help small US manufacturing companies reach their customer base.

Where can I find a rubber bumper?

It all started with a simple rubber bumper. We had a supplier in New York that had provided us with garage door seals which we then cut into small sections and used them as rubber bumpers. But our orders weren’t large and when the supplier got bought out they cut us from their list because we didn’t purchase in a large volume. Where could we go from here? The bumpers were very specific and hundreds of hours of searches on the internet yielded nothing. We then resorted to calling every manufacturer that had Rubber in their name. Eventually we found Carolina Rubber… these guys had a WW2 era rubber extruding machine that would fit our needs.

What we really needed is a platform that featured all rubber extruders in the US or some sort of RFQ system that would allow rubber extruders to bid on our rubber bumper request. China has such a platform in Alibaba – the US – not so much. Within the states, there are hundreds of separate distributors and retailers, but no one that serves the small companies or micro sized manufacturers.

We are going to change this!

RETF is connecting hundreds of thousands of US businesses so that they can find each other and build great products! What we have found is that if you look really hard, that there are businesses all over your local area that make really cool unique parts – if you only knew that!
